6 ways to rewrite your story through retraining with Reiki:

1. IT CREATES A Peaceful SPACE FOR THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

Healing is more effective when the nervous system is calm. Being in the parasympathetic state turns on your body's innate healing mechanisms, and is essential for supporting digestion, immunity, sleep, hormones, and more. Within the safe container of a Reiki session, many clients find themselves resting in deep states of calm. The more times you can teach your brain it’s safe to relax, the more this will become your natural state of being. I personally find that Reiki allows for a profound and long-lasting calm within the body much like meditation, and breathwork, so I recommend regular sessions for those wanting to train their nervous systems to chill out.

2. IT CONNECTS YOU TO SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

During Reiki sessions, I often feel the presence of angels, ancestors, earth presence, and other spirit guides who have come to support the client.  Clients may see colors and visualizations that are pleasant and calming. This is sometimes the most powerful part of the session and can give you a boost of encouragement. Most people end a Reiki session feeling loved, protected, and with a deeper connection to their spiritual support team. This can be a pivotal step in training the brain to relax into a place of trust and optimism.

3. IT CHARGES UP YOUR INTENTIONS AND VISUALIZATIONS

A big part of brain retraining, and self-discipline in general, is setting intentions and practicing visualizations of desired outcomes. This is tuning into lifeforce energy.  The more you can do this, the more your brain will connect to those possibilities. Each intention has a specific vibration, which we can amplify during a Reiki session. Also, visualizing yourself as happy, healthy, and fulfilled is about connecting to a potential self in the quantum field, and that’s a big part of what I do with clients. Reiki energy can be used to give more power and clarity to these goals.

4. IT ANCHORS YOU IN YOUR OWN POWER

When I’m in a session with a client, I’m not the one doing the healing. I am simply the conduit and facilitator. Reiki energy is part of the life force all around us, and I am here to connect you to it. My goal is for you to step into your role as co-creator of your reality, and remember your ability to heal yourself and build the life you want. Many people know what it’s like to feel disempowered around health, money, relationships, etc. and Reiki can be a part of taking back that power. This is one way we can give the brain and nervous system more inner resources.

Side note: if you ever work with a healer that makes you feel fearful, small, or dependent, walk away!

5. IT CAN REMOVE BLOCKS THAT KEEP YOU STUCK

A major part of a Reiki healing session is releasing energy blocks or areas of stagnation. Many of these are related to old patterns, traumas, or even to other people. It can be hard to move forward and heal when you’re still holding onto these things energetically/somatically. If you struggle with feeling stuck in a pattern that doesn’t serve you anymore, or attached to a past relationship, or anything like that, Reiki can be beneficial. Often, after a Reiki clearing, clients report feeling lighter and freer, and more able to redirect their unhelpful thoughts or behaviors. Both Energy therapy sessions and Yoga Therapy sessions can support this!

6. IT IS TRAUMA-INFORMED AND RETRAINING-FRIENDLY

In my opinion, Reiki sessions are meant to be supportive and non-triggering. Reiki is an inherently calming, balancing, and regulating energy. So, I try to make my sessions sensitive to those with trauma history and those actively doing brain retraining. Sometimes, we explore topics that require relaxing, such as inner child work, but overall I try to avoid talking too much about pain/symptoms/trauma stories. We want to avoid re-traumatizing the brain or activating the limbic system and instead focus on creating calm, lightness, and hope.

The best part of doing Reiki is that each client and each session is unique! I love working with fellow brain retrainers and those looking to make significant shifts in their health and well-being. Receiving Reiki, especially regularly, can help you rewire your brain for vitality, abundance, and calm.
